Call for Papers

On behalf of the Organizing Committees, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 5th Asian Thermal Spray Conference (ATSC2012), 26-28, November, 2012, Tsukuba, Japan. ATSC2012 is organized by Japan Thermal Spray Society and Asian Thermal Spray Society.

Scope of Conference

With great pleasure we announce that the 5th Asian thermal spray conference (ATSC 2012), which had been postponed due to an unparalleled large earthquake in eastern Japan, will be held in Tsukuba, Japan on November 26-28, 2012. The purpose of this conference is to bring together state-of-the-art developments on all aspects related to thermal spray in the Asia-Pacific region. This conference has been held in China, Korea, Singapore and Japan since 2005 and is expected to go to countries such as India in the near future. The conference is intended to provide an attractive forum for presenting the latest advances in thermal spray by researchers and engineers from industry, research laboratories, and academia. It is also expected to provide younger engineers and researchers in the region with ample opportunities to learn about this fast-evolving technology, meet experts, and attain international experience.

Technical Program

The following topical areas are proposed for the ATSC2012 technical program.
■ Process: Plasma spray, HVOF, Cold spray, Warm spray, Aerosol deposition, Suspension spray, Precurosor spray
■ Application: TBC, Wear, Corrosion, Biomedical, SOFC, Semiconductor
■ Characterization: Microstructures, Porosity, Residual stresses, Adhesion, Mechanical properties
■ Feedstock materials: Metal, Ceramics, Polymer
■ Numerical simulation

Submission of Abstracts

The abstract submission has been closed.

Any delegate wishing to present a paper must send an abstract (150-200 words) to the programming committee, e-mail: atsc2012@jtss.or.jp (preferred, as an attached file or mail). The deadline for receiving abstracts is 25th June 2012 9th July 2012. Abstracts have to be submitted in English and typed in single-line spacing using Time 12 pt type and should be headed with the title (in CAPITALS and center justified and bold), name(s) and affiliation(s) of all authors, and correspondence for mailing and e-mail address. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their paper(s) by 25th July 2012.

Proceedings

Papers will be accepted for presentation and poster. 2-page long, camera-ready manuscripts should be submitted preferably in PDF format for inclusion in the proceedings by 10th September 2012. All the accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings to be made available at the conference. After the conference, authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their conference paper for possible publication in the ATSC2012 special issue of "Journal of Thermal Spray Technology". The submitted papers will undergo the journal’s reviewing process before acceptance.
